We are looking for a Barbering Trainer to join our team in an inspiring role within the Offender Learning Sector. This part-time position is a unique opportunity to deliver Barbering Level 1 and 2 courses to small groups of learners in a prison setting. As a Barbering Trainer, you will not only teach skills and knowledge but also make a meaningful impact on learners’ lives, aiding their preparation for a positive future after release.
Day-to-day of the role:• Deliver high-quality Barbering Level 1 and 2 courses within a prison environment.• Develop comprehensive training plans tailored to the needs of each learner group.• Provide advice, guidance, and support to enhance the learning experience.• Ensure the quality and consistency of course delivery and materials.• Monitor and report on learner progress and outcomes.• Engage with learners to instil professional skills, knowledge, and positive behaviours.
Required Skills & Qualifications:• Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.• Willing to gain an Award in Education within 6 months.• Proven track record of effective teaching in barbering.• Ability to gain, hold, and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.• Strong organisational and planning skills.• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.• Commitment to the rehabilitation and education of offenders.
