Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective kitchen performance.
  • Contribute to menu planning and development, bringing creative ideas and culinary expertise to the table.
  • Oversee food preparation, portioning, and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to maintain profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • Assist in scheduling, payroll, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Who Were Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume, fine dining or upscale casual Japanese or asian fusion restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and passionate about food, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards.
  • Ambition to develop.

Such a pleasure to go into a restaurant and made to feel so welcome, even without a booking. Service is impeccable, food outstanding and ambiance lovely.
