Barnsley Council is seeking a Business Support Officer to join their dedicated social care team and provide essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth running of services that support adults, children, and families across the borough.

?? Key Responsibilities:-
Deliver high-quality administrative support to social work teams and managers

Manage and maintain accurate records, databases, and correspondence

Organise meetings, prepare agendas, and take professional minutes

Respond to telephone and email enquiries from professionals and service users

Process invoices, payments, and other financial transactions

Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies

Contribute to improving service delivery through effective support functions

Previous experience in an administrative or business support role (ideally within social care or local authority)

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and internal databases

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Knowledge of social care processes and terminology (desirable)
