Full-Time Teaching Assistant with SEND experience

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEMH school in Barnsley that caters for students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. TeacherActive is supporting them with the recruitment of a Full-Time Teaching Assistant offering an immediate start. The school is based in S71 and caters for both Primary and Secondary aged students. The school encourages the students towards a bright and fulfilling future by providing incredible support and pupil specific learning plans. As a Teaching Assistant you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and encourage students to flurish. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this role, and there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEMH Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The successful SEMH Learning Support Assistant / LSA will be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The successful SEMH Learning Support Assistant / SEMH LSA will have:

· Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities

· Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours

· Ideally a Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
