My client is a Leading National Civil Engineering Company.

They are presently looking to appoint, on a long term contract basis, a Site Engineer / Senior Engineer to work initially on a large highways project in the Barnstaple area of Devon

This self-delivery project is valued at circa £60m and comprises bulk earthworks, highway construction, drainage, utilities, S278 works etc.

Due to the nature of the project there will be ample opportunity for day, nights and weekend work.

The project is scheduled to run for another 8+ months.

Duties include:

  • Setting out roads, earthworks, and drainage with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
  • Manage all engineering activity providing direction to the direct workforce and subcontractors
  • Quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
  • Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
  • Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
  • Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
  • Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
  • Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
