Acorn by Synergie is excited to be recruiting a dynamic and passionate Continuous Improvement Manager for a forward thinking, progressive manufacturer on the outskirts of Barnstaple.
Scope of the role
A vacancy has arisen within the Executive Leadership Team for a Continuous Improvement Manager. This is a new role, created to support the business with Continuous Improvement across all functions, providing support and guidance to all required stakeholders to achieve business priorities and goals.
Main responsibilities include
* Working with the Board of Directors, to create, implement, prioritise and lead projects to deliver improved performance in terms of responsiveness, customer service and profitability across all functions. * Define and prioritise a Strategic Improvement Plan, along with the current and desired future KPIs for the business, working with the Leadership Team to create the improvement plans to close the gaps. * Ensure that implementation teams (process stakeholders) are trained and equipped to use standardised root cause problem solving and improvement tools to ensure sustainable, consistent improvements. * Create project charters for improvement projects and the justifications which underpin them. * Drive the agreed improvements through a structured implementation plan. * Effective communication throughout the organisation and to identified external stakeholders. * Provide regular reviews and updates to project delivery, including milestones, costs, risks, and mitigations. * Manage the budgetary requirements against project expectation. * Carry out process and value stream mapping. * Deliver development and training of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with best practice. * Champion the Continuous Improvement Processes across the business. * Managing Capex Projects on budget.
Experience and Skills required
* Experience in organisational project management and process alignment though different parts of the organisation. * Previous experience in a similar or relatable role * Experiences of Lean Manufacturing Principles in a Manufacturing or similar environment including Lean, 6 Sigma and Kaizen. * Detailed knowledge and skill in the application of problem-solving techniques such as Value Stream mapping / Swim lanes / Fish bone diagram / 5 Why's to facilitate team events and run projects. * Strong team leadership skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate data for accurate decision making.
