As a Senior Electronics Engineer at SEA, you will play a critical role in delivering, upgrading, and sustaining high-end products and capabilities, to the UK and around the world. As a Senior Electronics Engineer for the Royal Navy Maritime Electronic Warfare Programme (MEWP), you will play a critical role in delivering intelligent countermeasures systems and support, helping to protect our country and our armed forces serving at sea.
The MEWP contract, to deliver our Ancilia Trainable Decoy Launcher to the Royal Navy, was awarded based on our proven maritime domain expertise and track record of delivering, upgrading, and sustaining high-end capabilities to the Royal Navy. Winning this contract will provide dedicated employment opportunities and sustain jobs for over 150 skilled and professional people in the Southwest, with the scope of the programme running for several decades.
What You will be Doing
  • Take responsibility for the Electrical and Electronic Engineering delivery of a variety of Electro-mechanical Systems supplied by SEA working to agreed cost, time and quality
  • Provide technical support to a small multi-disciplinary team of Engineers on specific projects
  • Seek and share good practice and knowledge locally to continuously improve own practices
  • Provide support to the learning and development of other Engineers within SEA through mentorship and expert advice
  • Support and facilitate reviews and approvals of electrical & electronic designs in accordance with business and industry standards
  • Provide input to Company standards pertaining to Electrical and Electronic Engineering including calculations, CAD models, manufacturing drawings & schematics and technical reports
  • Support SEA products through manufacturing, assembly, installation and service life
  • Support the preparation and submission of bids and proposals, including interfacing with customers and suppliers and generating engineering estimates
The Skills you Need
  • Contribute to the design and develop Analogue and Digital Electronic Circuits,
  • Experience of PCB design from Schematic capture to PCB layout using Altium
  • Experience in the design and manufacture of Electro-mechanical Systems
  • Ability to follow a methodical/systematic approach to analyse and solve problems, identifying key facts and breaking down complex information to components parts
  • Full lifecycle experience from requirements decomposition to acceptance and user sign off on multi-disciplinary programmes
  • Experience of requirements capture, analysis, V&V and configuration management;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Able to produce clear and concise technical documentation
  • Demonstrable ability to plan and execute technical assignments
  • Experience of development within the Product lifecycle
  • Currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC security clearance
  • Able and willing to travel occasionally within the UK and Overseas as required
