Are you passionate about supporting learners who communicate through British Sign Language (BSL)? We are seeking a dedicated Communication Support Worker to join our team at the Barnstaple. As a Communication Support Worker, your primary function will be to provide essential communication support to students, ensuring they can fully engage with their chosen courses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with curriculum teams and the college SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) team to understand students’ support requirements.
  • Adapt resources effectively to meet individual needs.
  • Facilitate communication for learners using BSL.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • BSL Level 3 Qualification: The successful candidate must be qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) at level 3.
  • Experience Supporting Deaf/Hearing Impaired Learners: Previous experience in an educational setting, providing support to deaf or hearing-impaired learners using BSL, is essential.
