Job Title: Multi-Trader Carpenter
Position: Full-time, Permanent.
Salary: A competitive salary of up to 35k per year
Location: Basingstoke
Our client is seeking a skilled Multi-Trader Carpenter to join our team, focusing on a variety of projects within commercial, military, and non-domestic sectors. This role requires a versatile individual adept at carpentry, with additional skills in kitchen fit-outs and basic painting tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including the construction, installation, and repair of wood structures and fixtures.
- Handle kitchen installations and fit-outs, ensuring precise and efficient completion of projects according to specifications.
- Conduct basic painting and finishing tasks as part of broader project requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project specifications and material requirements.
- Prepare and execute layouts in compliance with building codes, using measuring tools accurately.
- Operate various hand tools and power tools necessary for cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members regarding project details and progress.
- Uphold high standards of quality and safety in all carpentry and painting work.
- Estimate time, costs, and resources needed for projects, assisting in the preparation of project budgets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, with additional skills in kitchen fit-outs and painting.
- Extensive knowledge of construction and remodeling practices in commercial and military environments.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical documents and construction drawings.
- Skilled in a broad range of carpentry techniques and familiar with construction tools and machinery.
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting heavy objects and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to achieving excellent finishes in all work tasks.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
