Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Scientist with Electrochemistry experience to join our client's Electrochemistry and Analytical Team. This role is integral to their research and development activities, focusing on the creation of electrochemical sensors. The successful candidate will be a key player in driving innovative projects forward, ensuring high-quality results and contributing to the company’s growth.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory-based research and development of electrochemical sensors.
  • Lead laboratory activities, solving technical problems across multiple projects with support from the wider team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to deliver interdisciplinary research projects and customer orders.
  • Maintain professional standards in the laboratory, including record-keeping, adhering to Health & Safety standards, and conducting COSHH assessments.
  • Apply theoretical and practical knowledge of electrochemistry in the preparation and testing of sensors.
  • Work flexibly across various assignments and projects, adapting to the dynamic needs of a late-stage startup environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Essential: Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate experience in electrochemistry (e.g., Masters, PhD) or industry experience.
  • Experience with impedimetric and voltammetric sensors, surface functionalization, microfluidics, biosensors, diagnostics, or surface plasmon resonance is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Accurate record-keeping to GLP and ISO-9001 standards, with familiarity in following work instructions or SOPs.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
