We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our client who cover Civils & Groundworks. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the costs of construction projects, ensuring financial control and delivering projects within budget. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in quantity surveying, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management:
  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction phase.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Contract Administration:
  • Administer and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Handle variations and claims effectively.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess project risks related to costs and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Provide support in dispute resolution and conflict management.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and present financial reports to project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Participate in regular project meetings to provide cost-related updates.
  • Compliance:
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to quantity surveying.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Groundworks or Civils experience is preferred but not essential
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (e.g., Excel, cost estimating software).
