Latent Defect Adjuster/Surveyor

Location: Agile working from home and our Belfast office

Our client, a leading insurance services provider, is seeking talented individuals to join their Specialist Services Division as Latent Defect Adjusters/Surveyors. This opportunity arises due to new business ventures in Ireland and in anticipation of future growth.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficient management of a diverse caseload involving Latent Defects and Commercial Buildings claims
  • Conducting pre-loss Building Valuations
  • Provision of traditional surveying services including technical reporting and contract administration (depending on experience)
  • Contribution to the development of the Specialist Services Team through training, best practice, and audit

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of property-related claims and principles
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with proficient negotiation and investigation abilities
  • High IT competency and literacy
  • Commitment to personal and professional integrity
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure while meeting deadlines and service standards
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Preferred insurance qualification such as Cert/DIP CII, Cert/Dip CILA, ACILA or willingness to achieve
  • Preferred degree-level qualification in a Surveying or Engineering discipline
  • Chartered status or working towards MRICS, C.Build.E MCABE, MCIOB, MICE, CEng or MIStructE preferred

You will be able to communicate and motivate via written media and demonstrate a strong understanding of Property Loss Adjusting. You will need to have previous property claims experience and have a loss adjusting qualification (CILA), but consideration will be given to those making significant progress toward it. Experience within the commercial property adjusting sector is essential and any experience in handling losses in excess of £100,000 would be invaluable.
