As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for efficiently planning and coordinating production activities while ensuring optimal resource utilization and on-time delivery. This is a business-critical role. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll provide timely and accurate information to assist in controlling materials and support the production plan by monitoring and reporting manufacturing schedules.
In your first few weeks in this Production Planner role, you can expect to:
- Develop and maintain production schedules and prioritise workload based on customer requirements, production capacity and material availability
- Coordinate with the Material Expeditor to ensure parts are available to meet the production schedule
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, manufacturing engineering, purchasing and quality assurance
- Monitor daily production activities, analyse production data and identify areas for improvement to drive efficiency and productivity
- Review and adjust production schedules as necessary to accommodate unforeseen events such as equipment breakdowns, material shortages or changing customer demands
To apply for this Production Planner role, your skills, expertise and experience should include:
Understanding of planning a CNC machine shop environment, as well as niche processes
- Thorough understanding of production planning principles, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning
- Advanced knowledge of production planning software, excel (advanced) and ERP systems
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities in meeting tight deadlines and managing changing priorities
