Lindisfarne Ltd Company (HHH Ltd) is based on Holy Island, Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland. Our retail space here sells a variety of products, including our renowned mead and other alcoholic drinks which are produced in the company winery. The shop also sells gifts, crafts and locally sourced food products.

Holy Island is a world-famous tourist destination which attracts thousands of visitors every year. The shop can be extremely busy and is open every day of the week. The shop’s opening hours are determined by tidal times, so working hours are therefore varied.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Manager at our Winery shop.

As a natural leader with a good eye for spotting commercial opportunities, you will take on the role in coaching and developing your team to help them reach their full potential within our diverse retail environment.
You'll take pride in continually delivering the highest and most consistent standards of customer service, visual standards, profitability and productivity of our outlets at the winery.

You will report to the House Manager who has overall responsibility for the Lindisfarne Ltd activities at our site on Holy Island.

Retail Manager duties (This list is not exhaustive):

  • Motivate, train and lead your team to deliver your high standards of customer service, merchandising and performance.
  • Implement effective displays in feature windows and on the sales floor.
  • Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers.
  • Help customers by providing information; answering questions; completing payment transaction.
  • Maintain a safe and clean store environment following H&S procedures
  • Maintain inventory by checking merchandise to determine stock levels, anticipating customer demand.
  • Build good working relationships with suppliers.

Essential Skills

  • Retail experience
  • Experience in leadership and people management 
  • Computer literate
  • EPOS experience
  • Cashing up experience
