Salary: 35,000 - 45,000 OTE (up to 60k)

Gi Group is excited to be working exclusively with a leading global manufacturer of liquid and air filtration systems who are looking to recruit an Area Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in Compressed air or Industrial gases. Considerations will be made for candidates who have worked in Energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, and chemical industries. As an Area Sales Engineer you will play a very important role maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and identifying potential customers.

THE ROLE:
As an Area Sales Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Expand customer base and maintain strong connections with current clients.
  • Have a good understanding of compressed air and industrial gases.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Can be proactive and work independently.
  • Be able to prioritise tasks.
  • Have individualised sales approaches.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the Northern UK territory.
  • Work together with other areas of the business to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for the assigned territory.
  • Schedule customer visits.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM.
  • After undergoing comprehensive training to gain in-depth knowledge of our processes and product offerings, you will be responsible for crafting tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers.
  • Maintaining regular contact with customers
  • Responding quickly and professionally to enquiries and following up on quotations and leads.
  • Contribute to consistent and profitable sales growth.



THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Area Sales Engineer:

  • Relevant professional experience in a technical sales role, either internal or external.
  • Practical knowledge of MS Office, as well as experience with CRM systems is essential.
  • Good understanding of compressed air or gases is necessary, industry experience is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel for regular customer visits (North UK responsibility) including overnight stays, as well some yearly EMEA travel, full clean driving license required.
