Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Seek out high quality products to meet customer needs.
  • Communicates well with other members of the team and keeps them up to date with any cost changes.
  • Efficient in meeting the demand of price enquiries from the sales team.
  • Identify and develop relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Looks for ways the company can save money and cut expenses.
  • Monitors stock levels
  • Keeps up to date with market changes and negotiates with supplies to ensure the company gets the best deal.
  • Input purchase orders onto systems using SAGE 200
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
  • Researching organisations and individuals to find new opportunities.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Someone who has at least 2 years' experience in purchasing.
  • Experience within the food ingredients industry is essential.
  • Good interpersonal skills - able to build and manage relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • IT skills when using outlook, SAGE.
  • Able to fully understand customer needs and demands (e.g. price, quality, availability)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Works well in a team environment
