This is an excellent opportunity for an experience Production / Build Technician to join a growing team building our next generation systems.

As Production Technician you will be involved in the full build of all machines including systems and sub-systems covering electro-mechanical assembly, Systems set-up, Inspection and test. You will also work closely with production, laboratory and development teams in early-stage client projects.

The Production Technician role is an important hands-on position and is based in our Kidlington manufacturing facility.

  • Undertake assembly, set-up (including software & optical) and testing of the systems to the require standards.
  • Ensure systems are built using controlled work instructions and drawings.
  • Ensure faulty components and non-conforming material issues are rejected to Production Engineering.
  • Support production for customer samples service.
  • Support R&D and Systems laboratory for development work.
  • Computer set-up / configuration and optical alignment.
  • Support company and manufacturing improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment assembling or building complex electro-mechanical systems and software configuration.

You will have the following: -

  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • BTEC I/II or HNC/HND or equivalent qualification within engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Electro-mechanical assembly and testing.
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Excellent mechanical understanding.
  • Practical experience working with computer set-up and configuration.
  • Practical experience working with Optical / laser systems beneficial.
  • Understanding of wiring and electrical safety.
  • Used a variety of hand tools.
  • Able to use continuous improvement and best practice methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to collaborate with colleagues and peers.
  • Pro-active and self-motivated to identify and prioritise own workload.
  • This is a full-time site-based role.
