Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a Finance Manager as part of our finance team based in Plymouth. We are looking for the postholder to take the lead on management accounts and to provide oversight across the day-to-day finance team.
This is a hands-on role as part of a dynamic and growing team which is likely to evolve over time.
The Finance Manager will report directly to the Group CFO.
Key duties:
Responsibility for completing management accounts and all balance sheet reconciliations. This will require preparation of the management accounts as well as supervision and oversight of others. Key tasks include:
o Working with the operational teams to establish accrued and deferred income and work-in-progress
o Posting payroll journals
o Preparation & submission of VAT returns
o Credit card postings
o Managing customer and supplier retentions
Supervision and oversight of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions . These functions are largely self-sufficient although there may be limited occasions where direct assistance is required in preparing payment runs, etc.
Liaising with year-end accountants/auditors and completing requests
Posting of year-end adjustments to Netsuite to ensure statutory accounts reconcile with management accounts
Management of the corporation tax and VAT position
Management of the intercompany position for
Cash flow forecasting and treasury management
Providing business analysis and assisting with month-end reporting
Providing support as required across the finance function in a growing business
Line management:
4 x direct reports (plus 1 x indirect report) comprising Management Accounts, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

CCAB qualified accountant
Self-starter & great team player
Good communication skills
Be able to work on-site
Experience of working in NetSuite or similar business package
Good experience of Excel
Experience of working in a busy accounts department
Knowledge/interest in the construction business
