SRM are recruiting a Finance Manager for a global business in Biggleswade ( ACA/ACCA/CIMA). This role has arisen due to an internal promotion.

Reporting to the Head Of Finance key duties include:

  • Support the Country Head of Finance and Leadership Team in delivering the overall financial strategy.
  • Produce a monthly finance pack for the Board.
  • Provide support to the commercial & operations directors, and managers within the company on financial issues, including margins, costing, reporting, and business case development.
  • Manage the finance team of 5 to complete all accounting, invoicing, credit control, purchase administration and banking transactions for the company.
  • Complete accurate budgets, forecasts, and management reporting within the timescales set by the Head of Finance and Group Finance.
  • Complete monthly and annual reporting required by Group Finance within the timescales set.
  • Management of corporation tax including preparing the annual tax pack, and liaison with the external tax advisors.
  • Maintain the balance sheet and the reconciliation of all control accounts on an appropriate basis.
  • Oversee all aspects of stock accounting including stock takes, margin reconciliation, creation of new products and Bills of Materials.
  • Support the Head of Finance in the systems strategy, identifying opportunities to automate or streamline processes, save cost, or reduce business risk by the application of new or improved systems or processes.
  • Manage the finance team, to include recruitment, personal development reviews and team meetings.
  • Assist in managing treasury function including sterling and foreign currency balances and complete weekly cashflow forecasts advising of fluctuations.
  • Assist in managing exposure to bad debt and customer credit.
  • Managing of the year end audit process, produce draft statutory accounts, and liaise with the auditors to resolve queries.
  • Carry out any reasonable request as requested by the Head of Finance within the reasonable scope of the role.
  • Assist in liaising with funders to provide information necessary for operation of invoice financing facilities and compliance with bank covenants.

Experience Required:

  • Fully qualified accountant ACA / CIMA / ACCA or comparable professional qualification
  • Minimum 3 years PQE
  • Experience of stock and cost accounting within a manufacturing business
  • Experience of working in a group environment and dealing with intra-group transactions and reporting
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and reporting, including experience of business intelligence tools-
  • Experience of working with auditors and other professional advisors
  • SAGE experience
  • Minimum 2 years staff management experience
  • High level skills in Excel including look-ups, pivot tables, and database connectivity
  • Good inter-personal skills
