Dunbar are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a school in Biggleswade to start immediately with full-time hours.

This role requires the candidate to have experience in a SEN setting which can be in a mainstream or SEN school.

We would also require a minimum of 6 months experience as a Higher Level teaching Assistant or 6 plus months experience working in a SEN setting raising attainment and providing 1:1 interventions to the children.

The main duties of this position is:

  • Take a lead role in the provision of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Support students within all ability classrooms.
  • Provide 1:1 support and intervention where needed.
  • To work with the LSCO/ RSENCO and other teachers to develop and implement Pupil passports/ILPs/MSP.
  • To act as Key Worker for identified pupils, regularly liaising with parents and staff to ensure progress against Learning Plan targets

The requirements for a candidate to have is:

  • 6 months plus experience in a SEN setting and ideally as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant previously
  • DBS on the update service
  • Great knowledge and understanding of SEN and various needs
  • Ability to lead a class and support the children
