Our client is a well-established electronics and instrumentation manufacturer based in the Billingham area. With a rich history, they have an impeccable reputation for the quality of service and products they deliver. Following year on year success my client has exciting growth plans leading to an exciting opportunity arising for a dynamic Accounts Assistant to join their team on a Permanent basis.

Your role would be to maintain the purchase ledger, by ensuring invoices are posted in a timely manner, and that supplier accounts are regularly reconciled

Duties:
  • Post purchase invoices.
  • Reconciliation of supplier accounts to statements.
  • Purchase ledger maintenance including dealing promptly with unapplied cash, requesting VAT invoices, copy invoices, resolving queries.
  • Daily cashbook posting.
  • Monthly payments runs.
  • First line triaging of incoming requests and messages to the Accounts Payable email
  • Ad-hoc and compliance tasks in connection with the maintenance of the financial records.
  • Administration of company credit cards and coding and posting expense claims.
  • Assistance with management accounts.
  • Assistance with the financial audit.
  • Work alongside accounts assistant


Role Requirements:
  • AAT studier
  • Qualified by Experience
  • Working knowledge of double entry accounting
  • Previous experience in a commercial finance environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Determined and committed to high quality standards.
  • Desire to offer excellent customer service.
  • An eye for continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to use initiative to get the job done rather than upwardly delegate.
  • Teamwork, will be working alongside other accounts assistant
  • Knowledge of VAT, Fixed asset register, reconciliations
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing company
