We are currently seeking an Expeditor to join a leading manufacturer of bespoke fasteners. The Expeditor will be directly responsible foroverseeing the purchasing and receipt of subcontracted services such as plating, heat treatment, testing, and machining.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of services from sub-contractors
- Build close relationships with Operations Manager, Production Planning Team and Dispatch/Logistics team.
- Coordinate with suppliers to communicate timelines and requirements for each order
- Track and report on the status of all orders in progress
- Resolve any issues or delays in the delivery of services
- Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure accurate ordering and forecasting
- Coordinate with the production team to schedule services in alignment with production needs
- Sourcing and negotiating contracts with external suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of services, and maintaining quality standards
- Continuously improve and streamline the expediting process to increase efficiency
Qualifications:
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials preferred
