We're on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant to bring their expertise and enthusiasm to our dynamic team in Birkenhead.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be supporting the preparation of Magenta Living's management and financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency by rolling forward monthly accounts and reconciling them with financial statements, budgets, and previous periods. Additionally, you'll aid in maintaining subsidiary accounting records, management accounts, and financial accounts, including investigating significant budget deviations and drafting reports for the Board and Executive Leadership Team. Timely completion of general ledger functions, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustment journals for all Group companies, is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, you'll conduct monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances, and contribute to Value for Money reporting and analysis by identifying trends and offering performance commentary. Finally, your tasks include assisting in the preparation of financial accounts and supporting schedules for the year-end audit of Magenta Living and its subsidiaries.

Hours of Work: Full Time, Permanent, 12 month fixed-term contract, 37 hours per week

Assistant Accountant Requirements:

We would particularly like to hear from candidates who have a positive and enthusiastic personality with a strong focus on customer service, and attention to detail and positively contribute to the role and team you work in. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work is essential to be able to work with colleagues of all levels, both internal and external. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must and ideally, you will be fully proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
