Accountant

We are a leading Recruitment Agency company serving customers in the Midlands area.

We are seeking an Accountant to join our client’s team on a contractual basis to cover Maternity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, including overseeing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations. The Company Accountant will work closely with the finance team and senior management to provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Please note this is a 12-month contract to cover Maternity leave.

Duties for the Accountant will include but not be limited to the following:

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections
• Prepare and analyse financial budgets and reports
• Prepare financial statements
• Monitor and reconcile bank statements and accounts
• Assist with year-end audits and tax filings
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with other departments to support company goals and objectives

The ideal candidate for the Accountant role will posses the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification
• Proficient in accounting software and Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9am -5pm
