PART TIME CREDIT CONTROLLER / DEBT COLLECTION.

A great opportunity to join a well established asset management business in Central Birmingham.

Looking for a part time debt recovery co ordinator, the key purpose of the role is to chase arrears rental properties as well as providing support to the Manager.

Some Debt recovery experience is advantageous although not essential.

This position is 18 Hours A Week.

You will be responsible for the department’s debt management function and ensuring rent collection is as close to 100% as possible; negotiating payment plans where appropriate and recommending and overseeing legal action on serious cases. You will oversee the whole process, working closely with Property Managers, Clients and Solicitors.

Duties will include:

  • Handling client & tenant rental accounts
  • Taking Payments
  • Telephone call handling
  • Issuing rental arrears letters and Section 8 and Section 21 notices as required
  • Adherence to regulations and procedures: Handling client monies, Tenant queries, Payment plans, Client bank details, Litigation
  • Internal & External reporting
  • Ensure accurate paperwork is produced
  • Support to team members
  • Aged balances, arrears clear down
  • Reconciliation
  • Handling Confidential information

Skills & Experience Required:

  • IT (incl. Excel & Word)
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Compiling reports
  • Min. 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong telephone skills
  • Good customer service
  • Negotiating skills
  • Confidence in analysing spreadsheets and other reports and well as creating and producing reports to a wide range of audiences

Skills desired but not necessary as full training will be provided:

  • Possession proceedings
  • Housing Act / Lettings knowledge
  • ARLA standards
