Electrical Design Engineer
An exciting opportunity awaits an Electrical Design Engineer eager to advance their career in Electrical Engineering. This role offers involvement in HV/LV and process control equipment projects within Thermal Power Generation. As part of a diverse team, the Electrical Design Engineer will contribute to designing, developing, and implementing power generation solutions, particularly in the renewable and power sectors.
Responsibilities of an Electrical Design Engineer:
- Design and engineer electrical distribution systems for various applications.
- Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and economic analyses for energy generation & storage projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Perform system modelling, simulation, and optimization.
- Develop and implement control strategies for optimal energy management.
- Stay updated with industry advancements and ensure compliance with standards.
- Support project development activities and conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Skills & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, engineering, and implementing power generation solutions.
- Proficiency in system modelling and simulation software such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Solid understanding of grid integration requirements, power system dynamics, and relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ENA, BS7671).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and practical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to energy generation systems.
- Professional engineering certification or chartered engineer status.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and associated components.
- Understanding of energy project financing and economic evaluation methodologies.
- Willingness to travel to site facilities and offices across the UK.

- Salary: Circa 55,000
