Role: Electrical Design EngineerLocation: Birmingham, On-Site 5 days in a weekRole Type: PermanentSalary: £45k - £50k, some flexibility, depending on experienceElectrical Design Engineer:Join our client, who’s at the forefront of technological innovation in the electronic solutions industry. They’re seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team in Birmingham. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to analyse design solutions, ensuring they meet technical and legislative requirements, and produce formal documentation for customer approval.Responsibilities and Tasks:Produce design documentation to support project applications, including performance calculations, test plans, and material selection justifications.Document the technical compliance of electrical designs to customer specifications, prioritising safety and legislative requirements.Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to develop integrated solutions.Follow the design process to ensure all design approvals are obtained at the appropriate stages.Qualifications and Experience:Degree qualified or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years and #39; technical experience in MOD, Aerospace/Defence, or Marine sectors.Proficiency in power and electrical design, including system design and component selection.Demonstrated capability in control and instrumentation design, with experience in Variable Speed Drives, Motor Starter panels, Distribution systems, and PLC systems.Familiarity with FMEA and Safety Assessments, including reliability analysis.Understanding of Testing and Automation, with experience in National Instruments (NI) Hardware and Labview being advantageous.Proficiency in using E-Plan and Solidworks Electrical would be advantageous.Skills and Knowledge:Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions and work independently to progress tasks.Working knowledge of the Machinery Directive and associated Standards.Alternative CAD system experience may be considered, as training could be provided.Accountabilities:The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing technical documentation to a high standard, ensuring designs meet specified technical and legislative requirements.Additional Information:Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Thursday (07:30 - 16:00) and Friday (07:30 - 12:30), with flexibility between 06:30 and 08:30 for start times and between 15:00 and 17:00 for finish times.Home Working: Occasional adhoc basis, with preference for onsite attendance 5 days a week.Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays, with some days used for Christmas shutdown.Pension: Auto enrolment into standard workplace pension scheme with Aegon.Company Sick Pay: Scheme available after two years of service.Life Assurance Scheme: Enrolment available after two years of service.Subsidised Festive Celebration.Casual business dress with a dress down Friday.Relaxed and friendly culture with inclusive values of professionalism, respect, innovation, development, and ethics.If you believe you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for our client, we encourage you to apply.
