About The Company:


Our client, a scaffolding subcontractor, situated in Northwest England with additional representation in the Northeast, Southwest, and London, boasts an annual turnover of £27 million and are well placed on prestigious projects across the UK, ranging across the nuclear, industrial and civil engineering sectors. They retain excellent relationships with Tier 1 contractors.





About You:


Do you have a strong commitment to upholding high standards in construction procedures while placing emphasis on the welfare of the team and the environment? Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to become a part of their team, taking on the role of HSE Advisor for various projects in Birmingham and the North East.

You must have a willingness to travel and stay away during the week as the role will be two days in Birmingham and two days in North East, with 1 day flex, either on site or working remotely.





Duties:
  • Ensure all HSE Procedures are followed and adhered to.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, standards, and legal requirements concerning QHSE protocols.
  • Perform risk assessments, audits, and inspections to pinpoint potential hazards and areas necessitating enhancement.
  • Offer leadership, direction, and training to staff regarding quality, health, safety, and environmental concerns.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, formulating corrective and preventive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors concerning quality, health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Continuously monitor and assess performance indicators to propel ongoing improvement endeavours.
  • Travel between sites and manage your own diary to ensure all areas are covered.



What is needed for the role:



  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (Essential).
  • Knowledge of the industry, with a strong understanding of health and safety and environmental management systems. (Essential)
  • Knowledge of ISO Certification: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 (Highly Desirable).
  • Strong leadership qualities, interpersonal and communication skills (Highly Desirable).
  • Problem solving and having a strong attention to detail are a must, and this role calls for an ability to engage and influence all key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of necessary regulations and legislation.
  • Previous experience working within a scaffolding environment, either within construction or a pure scaffolding environment.
