Are you a patient, nurturing and reliable TA looking to make a difference in a specialist setting?

We're working with a welcoming primary school in Hockley with a well-established resource base for pupils in KS1 and KS2 who are working at early developmental levels. Children have a range of needs, including Autism, are non-verbal, and some are pre-EHCP or already have an EHCP in place.

This is a full-time position supporting children 1:1 and in small groups, using EYFS-style play-based learning approaches tailored to their needs. The role is ideal for someone with SEND experience who's confident using visuals, sensory strategies and Makaton or PECs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for pupils with ASD and communication needs
  • Use EYFS-based learning to support KS1/2 pupils working below expected levels
  • Implement structured routines and visual supports
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and class teacher to deliver personalised interventions

Who We're Looking For:

  • SEND experience, ideally with ASD and/or non-verbal pupils
  • Previous experience working within a Primary school
  • Calm, consistent, and enthusiastic approach
  • Experience with PECs, Makaton or similar
