We are seeking an exceptional and hardworking Clinical Negligence Legal Assistant to join our top-tier team in Birmingham city centre This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly organised and diligent professional to provide vital support on our high-value clinical negligence caseload.

Clinical Negligence Legal Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist in investigating and progressing client compensation claims stemming from clinical/medical negligence, claims against public authorities, and personal injury matters
  • Attend client meetings, conferences with barristers/QCs, and court hearings, meticulously noting all discussions
  • Undertake legal drafting of routine correspondence, statements, and court documents
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of medical reports, expert evidence, and disclosure documents
  • Perform legal research utilising online resources and law libraries
  • Handle client communication via telephone and email correspondence
  • Maintain the highest standards of honesty, integrity and confidentiality in all dealings
  • Accurately and comprehensively record all billable time per the firm's recording procedures
  • Provide administrative support and maintain up-to-date physical/electronic case files
  • Collate relevant legal resources, publications and materials for fee earners
  • Contribute to the production of client newsletters, marketing brochures and pitches when required
  • Attend internal training sessions to continuously develop legal knowledge and meet CILEX CPD requirements
  • Assist with preparing materials and attending business development events
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by supervising solicitors

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal ideally within a clinical negligence team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with immaculate English skills
  • Exceptional organisation and multitasking capabilities to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Meticulous eye for detail and commitment to achieving exceptional standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office, online research platforms and case management systems
  • Currently studying CILEX, LPC or GDL qualifications is highly desired
