Job Title: Mechanical Area Engineer

Salary: £53,000 - £57,000 DOE

Location: Birmingham

Shift’s: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 17:00 

Orion are currently working with an innovative business in the metal works industry. They are currently seeking experienced confident, data driven, Mechanical Area Engineer to join our team in Birmingham.

Mechanical Area Engineer Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Area Engineer, you will be required to: 

• Work closely with production team on continuous improvement
• Implement changes to improve production and reduce downtime
• Assist with factory shutdown when needed
• Make light modifications to mechanical drawings to improve efficiency when needed
• Work with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Assist with reactive maintenance when needed
• Data reliability

Experience/Knowledge:

We’re looking for Mechanical Area Engineers with the below:

• 5 years post apprenticeship experience.
• Experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Engineering project experience
• Maintenance experience with heavy industrial, plant equipment and machinery.
• Hydraulics & Pneumatics
• Qualification in Mechanical; Engineering (NVQ/BTEC)
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to Mechanical Maintenance.
