Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum requirement for this position is a suitable qualification to teach Music i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS

The School and Role

ABC Teachers is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join us for maternity cover at a reputable secondary school in Saltley, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to fostering a love for music in secondary school students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons to students of varying abilities and ages.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel encouraged to participate and excel.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall success of the music department.
  • Participate in school events, such as concerts and performances, to showcase students' musical achievements.

 

Requirements

The successful Music Teacher will have;

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of the music curriculum and ability to effectively teach a range of musical styles and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Previous experience teaching music at the secondary school level is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to promoting the value of music education and enriching the lives of students through music.
  • Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)

*All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
