Pharmacist Prescriber

Job Purpose:

The Pharmacist Prescriber sits in our Client’s Clinical Team, with responsibility for remotely evaluating and assessing asynchronous patient consultations and issuing prescriptions when satisfied that the requirements have been met for safe supply.

This role will be part of a team who specialises in prescribing weight loss treatments to patients. 

The Pharmacist Prescriber responsibilities will be:

  • Work remotely using secure Electronic Health Records System (EHR system) and ensure all information is treated confidentially.
  • In accordance with the protocols set by our Client’s Medical team, evaluate patient consultations and determine whether patients should be prescribed treatment.
  • Request further information from patients where needed to safely prescribe. 
  • Prescribe treatments to patients within the limit of your competencies. 
  • Complete concise and comprehensive notes on patient records where required.
  • Complete own work efficiently and in accordance with the designated rota, supporting the team to meet customer demand.
  • Provide timely feedback on any issues preventing the delivery of work.
  • Follow provided operational protocols, for example the correct use of on-hold or rejection codes.
  • Engage in team meetings & training sessions.
  • Keep up to date with provided training materials and information.
  • Keep up to date with prescribing requirements to maintain Independent Prescriber rights.
  • Keep up to date with any independent training required to ensure clinical competency in respective areas of prescribing.

To work as Pharmacist Prescriber you will need to have:

  • Must have the Entitlement  to Work in the UK
  • Must have GPhC registration 
  • Must be an Independent Prescriber
  • 3+ years of pharmacy experience
  • Experience prescribing GLP1s

The successful Pharmacist Prescriber will be working from home. This is a temporally role.
