Battery Process Engineering Manager
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 + bonus + benefits

We are looking for an experienced Battery Process Engineering Manager to lead and optimise the daily operations of our battery disassembly and recycling workshop. This is a hands-on role where your expertise in lithium-ion batteries and high-voltage systems will directly impact operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

  The Role

As Battery Process Engineering Manager, you will oversee the disassembly function, managing workflow, resources, and technical documentation to ensure smooth operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing disassembly processes and technical data for EV battery packs.
  • Leading day-to-day operations within the workshop, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Assessing lithium-ion EV batteries for safe handling and disassembly.
  • Managing stock control, export documentation, and end-of-month reporting.
  • Acting as a safety operative for high-voltage and live-working environments.
  • Supporting continuous improvement across process efficiency and safety standards.

About You

The successful Battery Process Engineering Manager will bring a hands-on leadership approach, strong technical understanding of EV battery systems, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards. You will have:

  • EV IMI Level 3 & 4 High Voltage qualifications.
  • Experience working with lithium-ion batteries or within a similar high-voltage environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset and the ability to drive improvement through your team.
  • Forklift licence (advantageous).
