Are you looking for your next Quantity Surveyor opportunity in the midlands?
Fawkes and Reece are working with a tier 1 civil engineering main contractor, seeking Rail experienced Quantity Surveyors to join this huge project.

Our client is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor in their Rail commercial team for their large Rail projects around Birmingham.

You will be working within the commercial team to deliver the projects successfully, develop and maintain contact relationships and negotiate to maximise commercial returns and manage risk.

This role will require you to be based up near Birmingham project office, and travel to varying projects across the scope of works.

Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Team support and Site management liaising
  • Prepare tenders, variations/valuations, final accounts, S/C valuations, site client meetings, and client quotations/estimates
  • Consider Risk and Opportunity
  • Maintain site records, control documents, and measure on-site progress
  • CVR - assist as required for larger valued works and produce for small value projects for reports

Quantity Surveyor Experience and Qualifications

  • Quantity Surveying Qualification (HND/HNC or above)
  • Previous high value Rail contract experience
  • Previous Rail main contractor experience
  • Effective use of Microsoft office package
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrable Commercial awareness
  • Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
