Are you an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking for an exciting opportunity to work with an established and progressive consultancy in Birmingham? As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost and value management for projects from inception to completion. This will involve providing professional advice and support on procurement, contract administration, and commercial management. Projects will be varied including residential, healthcare, industrial and commercial.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake cost estimation and prepare detailed cost plans for construction projects.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Provide assistance with tendering processes, including preparation of bills of quantities and contract documentation.
  • Monitor and report on project cost control, cash flow, and variations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and produce financial reports to assist decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and present reports to clients, providing accurate cost advice and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Working towards achieving professional membership of the RICS
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
  • Sound understanding of cost estimation, tendering, and procurement procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in relevant computer software and applications.
