Mould Process Technician- 3 shift rotation (mornings, afternoons and nights)

Main purpose of the job

This role will form part of a rotating 3 shift mould team for current injection moulding production and new project production launches.


Main missions and results

Targets will include cycle times to match or improvement of costed cycle.

Identify opportunities for cost savings i.e. material usage, masterbatch etc.

Setters first point of contact and support on shift for all technical matters.

Documentation is relevant and completed for the current tooling / all date stamps are correct, and H&S requirements are completed i.e. guard checks / light guards.

Carry out checks to settings from master parameter sheet against machine settings in memory.

Tool-change & Start ups are completed in line with Tool-change procedure, SOI ELM-036.

To issue first off if required once process is deemed to be running & producing good quality parts, always referring to working sample for guidance.

First off document to be approved for production start & all documentation is identified and placed in designated location.

Ensure purge waste is understood by Setters and weighed / monitored as per Artifex policy.

Ensure all elements of Technicians and setters responsibilities are adhered to.

Highlight any tooling or equipment issues & suggest / drive improvements.

To actively reduce tool change / awaiting tool change times by means of smart working practices such as educating setters / material handlers in hopper run out times and barrel heat stabilisation / colour changes etc.

Assist or lead tool changes to ensure production meet tool change plan when possible.

Make / suggest continual improvements to processes.

Ensure all data relevant to process & or machine downtime is captured & recorded correctly.

You will be expected to show flexibility in your hours of work including any overtime as and when required.


Preferred skills and experience

IMT3 Injection moulding.

SMED Understanding / Implementation.

Polymer knowledge / drying / residence attributes / Processing / HSE implications.

What you'll get

You will receive a competitive salary ranging plus company holiday pay.

Working hours are 40 per week on a three shift rotation, alternating on a weekly basis between afternoons (14:00-22:00), mornings (06:00-14:00) and nights (22:00-06:00). Training will be given to the right candidate with the opportunity to join an expanding site within our organisation.
