Role: Commissioning & Service EngineerSalary: £38,000 - £43,000 per annum + Benefits & Company VanHours: Monday to Friday with Overnight Stays as/when required.Location: Remote - Visiting Client sites across the UK. Ideally you will be based in or around the Midlands as many clients are located between Manchester and London, but the role does cover the whole of the UK.

This superb UK manufacturing company provides powered & energy efficient Building Management Products and equipment to the Construction & Facilities Management industries, with their technical environmental solutions being utilised extensively within Schools, Public & Commercial buildings across the UK.

Dedicated to providing a high-quality service, the company now requires an additional Electrically Biased Service Engineer to join their business, focused on providing their Main Contractor, M&E and Building Management clients with commissioning & maintenance services for their range of Building Management products, some of which connect to the BMS (Building Management System) while others operate as standalone.

The role is ideal for Engineers who enjoy being mobile, working closely with commercial clients and commissioning electrical Building Management equipment on brand new construction projects & servicing/troubleshooting existing installations.

Engineers with electrical skills & qualifications, who also have experience working as a mobile Service Engineer or as an Electrician/Electrically biased Building Services or Facilities Management Engineer, would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

Includes the management & delivery of projects ranging from:

  • Pre-installation site visits to ensure the site is ready to receive equipment and have created the necessary structural openings correctly.
  • On-site commissioning of new installations and undertaking maintenance servicing work, which may require some mechanical systems work ie. replacing an actuator, realigning fans or motorised dampers etc
  • Writing up RAMS & site reports.
  • Contacting clients prior to visiting site to check they are ready for a visit and the necessary lifting / access equipment where required, will be available.

Extensive UK travel can be expected with overnight stays in hotels for sites requiring more than 1 day onsite.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Good Electrical installation & maintenance skills, ideally including solid knowledge of Control Panels
  • Minimum Level 3 qualified in Electrical - ie. NVQ, City & Guilds, together with Electrical Safety certification.
  • Comfortable working at heights and able to stay away from home as projects require (Typical overnight stays are 1 - 2 nights
  • It would be useful to already hold a CSCS card, Asbestos Awareness certificate, IPAF or PASMA, but training can be provided.
  • Due to working within School environments, DBS clearance is required for this role - the required checks are completed once an offer has been accepted.
  • Able to create site specific RAMS
  • Holds a full driving licence
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel etc
  • Has good communication skills at all levels
  • Enjoys good personal drive, energy and enthusiasm
  • Has time management and administrative skills
  • Is friendly and has an adaptable & positive attitude to work
