Keen to build upon their considerable investment in new products and capitalise on significant new market opportunities they are looking to appoint a high calibre Automation Engineer to lead them through a period of tremendous change, opportunity and growth.The RoleWith an HQ in Birmingham, you will be part of a highly skilled project implementation team where you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing control system designs that include PLC, HMI, Robotics and SCADA, to meet project requirements and specifications
  • Designing control system architectures, electrical schematics, and panel layouts using industry-standard software tools
  • Programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of automated systems
  • Conducting system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner

The CandidateWith proven knowledge and experience in the configuration and programming of automation equipment (2 years +) you will have worked within a manufacturing environment, ideally within the automotive sector. As a self-starter with high levels of self-resilience you will be experienced in dealing directly with customers and or 3rd parties and have:

  • Proven experience in the design, programming, and implementation of automation control systems
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages and experience with PLC hardware, preferably Allen Bradley or Siemens
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP) and other networking concepts
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA software packages (e.g., WinCC, RSView) and experience in developing intuitive graphical interfaces
  • Familiarity with Robot control systems
