TIG WelderAttractive pay rate£16.00 - £18.00 per hourExcellent working cultureOur Birmingham based client is currently looking for an experienced TIG Welder to join their ever-evolving manufacturing operation. They are a machining and fabrication specialist who pride themselves on quality and precision engineering.The TIG Welder position requires a candidate who has experience performing high quality TIG Welding on various metal components and structures. Utilizing their expertise in welding techniques, metallurgy, and blueprint interpretation to produce welds that meet industry standards for strength, appearance, and durability.Responsibilities:- Perform TIG welding operations on metal components according to provided specifications, drawings, and welding procedures.- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, degreasing and removing any contaminants that could affect weld quality. Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of workpieces prior to welding- Employ appropriate welding techniques to achieve desired weld including penetration, bead appearance and fusion. Control parameters such as heat input, travel speed, and filler metal deposition to optimise weld quality.- Inspect welds visually and using non-destructive testing methods to ensure they meet specified quality standards and acceptance criteria. Make adjustments to welding parameters as necessary to correct defects or deviations.- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing welding operations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves and protective clothing to minimise the risk of injury.- Perform regular routine maintenance, to ensure all equipment is in good working condition, such as cleaning calibrating and replacing worn components.Requirements:- Previous proven experience working as a TIG welder in a manufacturing fabrication environment, automotive would be an advantage.- Proficiency in TIG welding techniques, including the ability to weld various raw materials.- Knowledge of metallurgy, weld symbols and blueprint reading is essential.- Excellent hand- eye coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate welding torches, filler rods and work pieces with precision.- Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect and correct weld defects such as porosity, cracks and incomplete fusion.Benefits:- Flexibility- Excellent working culture- Company events- Job stability- Early finish on a Friday- Competitive Salary- Overtime OpportunityThe working hours for the successful TIG Welder Operator are:Monday to Thursday 07:00am - 16:00pm and an early finish on a Friday 07:00am - 12:00pmThe rate of pay for the successful TIG Welder is dependent on experience varying from £16.00 per hour to £18.00 per hour, this will be discussed during interview process and based upon a welding test.If you are interested in the role of our TIG Welder please click and apply with your CV.
