Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus

Summary of Position:

Our client, an independent family-run business of botanical experts, that specialises in the design, supply and installation of office plants and corporate flowers nationwide, is looking for a Business Unit Manager to join their team. The Business Unit Manager will be responsible for planning, managing orders and scheduling work.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist the Operations Director in setting up and managing sub-contractors.
  • Provide quotes for bespoke orders via the client’s sub-contractors.
  • Assist in preparing the website (colours etc).
  • Agree on the pricing with sub-contractors and the client’s sale prices to meet the company's profit expectations.
  • Respond to all enquiries via email/phone.
  • Allocate orders to sub-contractors.
  • Run the sales tracker daily.
  • Communicates with customers to ensure they are always fully informed of deliveries.
  • Manages booking in orders with customers.
  • Schedules upcoming deliveries and collections.
  • Line manages seasonal temporary workers to ensure service levels exceed expectations.

Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes:

  • Experience working within a customer-driven position.
  • Experience managing small teams/temporary workers.
  • Experience managing sub-contractors.
  • Great IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Some experience adding content to websites would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with proven ability to meet deadlines and work with strict timescales.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to change as required.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and effectively maintain long-term relationships.
  • Excellent commercial awareness.
