Your new company
Your new company is an SME in the Blackburn area. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
  • Prepare, analyse and present monthly financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, management reports and cash flow statements.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to optimise financial performance.
  • Write insightful and accurate commentaries and explanations to accompany all reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accurate record keeping.
  • Ensure banks are reconciled and cash correctly managed across multiple accounts and entities.
  • Multi-entity accounting and reporting, including group consolidations.
  • By managing a small team you will be responsible for all transactions to trial balance (including aspects of payroll).
  • Document, develop and enhance strong internal controls and implement procedures to safeguard financial assets.
  • Develop systems and automation to reduce processing time, reduce error rates and speedier real time reporting.
  • Business Partnering - work pro-actively and collaboratively with other operational managers and departments to provide financial insights, cost control and support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage a small finance team.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and relevant accounting regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transactional finance and management accounting role, preferably within a service based industry.
  • Fully or part-qualified (ACA, CGMA, ACCA or similar) with a working understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
  • Team management experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Fast paced, adaptive and versatile working.
  • Good written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
