HR consultant
Summary: The HR consultantwill play a crucial role in providing professional HR advice and guidance across the organization, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a seasoned HR professional with the ability to develop strong relationships, understand organizational needs, and support the delivery of workforce strategies and projects efficiently and results-driven. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with managers at all levels to shape HR priorities, forward-plan, and address emerging agendas, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance with legislation.
- Support the HR Service in delivering various HR activities, including employee relations, statutory responsibilities, procedural advice, workforce development, and strategy development.
- Identify and analyze recurring HR issues, developing appropriate strategies to reduce reactive casework and enhance proactive management.
- Provide advice and support on high-level complex cases and change activities, including dismissals and appeals.
- Deliver excellent customer-focused service in line with service SLAs and KPIs, seeking and acting upon customer feedback to continuously improve service quality.
- Collaborate with Trade Union colleagues to understand and address employee relations issues effectively.
- Drive efficiencies within the HR service through process streamlining and optimization.
- Utilize Management Information (MI) to identify trends, future requirements, and areas for performance improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to nurture and support employees, develop effective people managers, and shape organizational culture.
- Interpret national and local HR priorities, staying updated on HR initiatives to contribute to the HR business plan.
- Develop organizational HR policies in response to legislative and statutory changes in employment law, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions to support organizational priorities.
- Engage organizational managers on various HR issues, delivering appropriate HR workshops to meet their needs.
- Support colleagues in the HR service, contributing to a positive work ethos and fostering constructive relationships.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum Level 5 professional qualification in HR or related field.
- Experience working in a large complex organization, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, demonstrated through report writing, presentations, consulting, and influencing.
- Ability to remain positive in the face of change and challenge, actively seeking more effective ways of working.
