Job Opportunity: Production Planning & Logistics Manager

We are working with a fantastic client in the Blackburn area supporting them with their continuous business growth. We are actively seeking a Production Planning and Logistics manager with a dynamic approach for a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution business.

This is an incredibly rare opportunity to join a thriving local business in a role offers room for further professional development & progression within the company. Our clients’ customers are based globally, and the company import from their international manufacturing operation to the UK and assemble products to the customers specification before going out to the customer.

There are lots of facets to this role and will suit someone who can multitask, juggle, think on their feet, problem solver and can make good decisions quickly.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 5 years’ working experience within a production planning & logistics role in a production and warehouse setting.
  • A dynamic and flexible approach to the role as each day will be different.
  • Eager to continue professional development and take on further responsibilities as you progress.
  • Strong team management skills – able to adapt managerial style to suit various sites.
  • Strong computer literacy skills – MS Office (excel is essential), Sage.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Negotiation skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude, able to spot a potential issues and act accordingly.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of manufacturing schedules, storage & shipment of goods.
  • Monitor procedures and systems for scheduling, tracking & distribution.
  • Managing and ensuring the accuracy of product storage & warehouse inventories.
  • Discussions & negotiations with goods haulage & consumable suppliers.
  • Establishing & managing incoming and outbound shipping schedules.
  • Collaborating with different warehouses within the company to fulfil customer orders.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal as you will be responsible for liaising with the internal warehouse managers, 3PL, sales team and own team.
  • Liaise with team to ensure stock is properly documented, ordered and work within delivery schedules.
