Morson are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity as Senior Project Manager to join a marketing leading provider of Control, Operation and Maintenance agreements (COMA) in the Northwest. The role is based in either Middlesbrough or Balckburn and offering a competitive salary and package.
This role is to project manage pre-construction and construction activities (from design to energisation) for large-scale high voltage infrastructure and grid connections at voltage levels normally between 33kV and 400kV.

Skills and experience:
• Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering, with at least five years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing large and complex HV and EHV substation projects throughout the full project lifecycle from feasibility to energisation.
• Trained and experienced as a project manager, co-ordinating resources, materials, and site activities within given budgets for engineering focused projects (essential).
• Experienced at creating project plans using computer software such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Project etc (essential).
• Hold or be committed with support of the company to gaining professional project management accreditation (essential).
• Have experience working with Low Voltage and High Voltage electrical system components, plant, and equipment (desirable).

Key responsibilities include:
• Project accountability for all company Health & Safety processes including compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM) Construction Phase Plans, Codes of Practice, Safety rules, point of work risk assessments, safety observations, incident reporting and all other related Health & Safety Executive policies.
• Act as point of escalation for the customer, site, and office teams for delivery elements of both planning and implementing current and future projects.
• Accountable for a total portfolio of between £5m to £15m (3 and 20 in volume) of construction projects including producing all project progress reports of the related site works on a weekly basis.
• Operate across the whole of the operational delivery team as a contract lead, responsible for between 1 and 5 operational subcontractor service contracts & frameworks.
• Develop HV and EHV project initial functional requirement into compliant cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Project manage the development and delivery of HV and EHV projects (cable, overhead, plant and civil) to time, cost, safety and quality.
