Test/ Validation Engineer

We are recruiting for a Test/ Validation Engineer for one of our clients based in Peterborough.
You will be working for a globally recognised company.
This is initially a 12-month contract role but could be extended.

Key Responsibilities of the Test/ Validation Engineer:

• Effectively manage several projects simultaneously.
• Operate a multitude of different off-highway vehicles including but not limited to, Hydraulic Excavators, Back-hoe Loaders, Telehandlers, Track Type Tractors where required.
• Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both engine and machine.
• Work from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical and hydraulic)
• Produce electrical looms to interface engine and machine.
• Engine installation and test projects into off-highway machines and generator sets.
• Mechanical and Electrical engine to machine integration, shakedown and test.
• Travel to various off-site test and development facilities both client owned and 3rd Party (some overseas).
• Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM)
• Adhere to the Organisations health and safety policy and safe working practices.


Qualifications & Experience for the Test/ Validation Engineer:

• Formal education in an engineering discipline preferably electrical or mechanical
• Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other business units, customers, and suppliers.
• Demonstrable high level of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical/electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of engines and machines.
• A good working knowledge of instrumentation and its application.
• Good PC skills ability to use Microsoft Office and CAT designed software.
• Previous experience in use of CANape is desirable.

Hours & Pay for the Test/ Validation Engineer:

• 37.5 hours per week
• £25.00p/h
