Are you looking for a School Attendance Officer Job in the Fylde Coast starting immediately?An excellent secondary school based near Blackpool are looking for an experienced Attendance officer to join their established team. As an attendance officer you will be predominantly handling the attendance within the school whilst not only recording absences, but dealing with the surrounding issues including liaising with parents, and staff alike. You will be required to run attendance reports, so experience using SIMS is essential to the role.This is a temporary position for at least 4-6 weeks working hours from 8am-4pm, however part-time applicants can also be considered.

  • Ensure smooth running of the attendance office, contribute to the planning and development of the support service, maintain the required confidentiality of materials.
  • Work on the schools SIMS system, running the appropriate reports.
  • Handle telephone calls with sensitivity and confidence, using initiative as required.
  • Provide a full range of secretarial skills including typing, copying, recording, filing and classification of materials using a computer to cover work generated by the Head, authorised members of staff and Governors.
  • Responsible for ensuring the recording of attendance data and reasons for the absence of pupils.
  • Set up and ensure that the filing system is maintained.
  • Follow the school policies and procedures regarding health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection.What you'll need to succeed

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Knowledge of SIMS or other school management systems (desirable but not essential)
