The opportunity:
Experienced/ambitious Project Manager required by this busy regional Tier 2 main contractor to manage the construction works for of a 10m theatre refurbishment and new build extension project in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
Reporting to the visiting Contracts Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the scheme from late preconstruction phase, start of works on site in August/September and throughout construction phase on site for roughly 18 months programme of works.
You will lead your team holding full ownership and responsibility for the client and stakeholder interface, the safe, smooth and timely progress of construction on site, and financial control of the project throughout.
The project is located on the sea front with the additional challenges of working in a busy public area so safety, house-keeping, maintaining safe and clearly signposted walkways, well organised deliveries, etc will all be critical.
The contractor:
This busy regional Tier 1 main contractor, is based in Hampshire with an annual turnover of 25m-30m for the region, with secured workload mainly in the public sector both through competitive tenders and often negotiated with repeat clients; Projects range in value from 5m to 15m in value, covering both new build and refurbishment projects.
Patch focus covers the Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey / M3, A3(M) and M27/A27 corridors.
Requirements:
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record within a Tier 1 or 2 main contracting organisation, able to deliver schemes up ranging 6m to 15m as an autonomous No1.
Key attributes will include excellent client, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.
