Mechanical Estimator, Permanent, Edinburgh.Â
Our Client is expanding due, to multiple project wins. They are looking to expand the commercial team based out of their offices in Edinburgh by hiring an experienced Mechanical Estimator.Â
The basic Role
o Receiving enquiries from clients.
o Completing an in-depth review of the enquiry.
o Attending site meetings/surveys (not common as predominantly new build projects tendered).Â
o Sending / receiving enquiries to / from suppliers & specialist sub-contractors
o Vetting quotations from both a commercial and technical perspective.Â
o Preparing take-offs from drawings.
o Identify and analyse opportunities to give a commercial advantage to tenders.
o Preparation of tender price using estimating software (SEC).
oPresentation of tender to Directors & the Senior Management Team for approval, prior to submittal.
o Detailed tender submission including tender letter, cost summary analysis and potential value engineering opportunities.Â
o Post-tender review meetings with clients.Â
o Detailed tender handover to the Project Delivery / Operations Team.
o Assisting in the development of colleagues such as Administrators or Junior Estimators.
Qualifications
o Proven experience as an Mechanical Estimator within the M&E sector.
o In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and regulations.
o Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
