The Senior Software Development Manager Roles & Responsibilities include:
* Provide technical leadership and managerial guidance to a team of 6-8 software engineers
* Recruit and mentor staff to grow the team's capability and their individual talent
* Review product requirements and feature requests, providing development effort estimates and risk assessments to senior management
* Influence architectural decisions, design/code reviews, test plans and technology strategy
* Manage multiple concurrent projects to deliver committed features on time
* Foster an environment of continuous improvement in software engineering practices and product quality in terms of performance, scalability, availability and flexibility
* Work closely with other software development teams as well as product line management, quality assurance (QA), and technical support.

Key Competencies & Skills for the Software Development Manager include:
Bachelor's degree in electronics and communications engineering, computer engineering or computer science and ideally 10 years of experience in a software development role, in the Networking Domain. Five years of experience in a technical leadership role and/or people management role.

They are looking for a good People Manager, someone who can understand the technologies but will not be expected to code.

The Ideal candidate will also have the following skills:
* Familiar with Linux Development environment, C, Python
* Knowledge of network routers/switches and the Networking Industry
* Experience in open-source software development
* Knowledge with cloud native application development
* Knowledge with distributed systems and Python based micro-services.
